Pizza Delivery Tips For Special Events

Virginia Caballero

If you need a fast and easy meal for a special event, consider calling on your favorite pizza shop. Not only is having pizza delivered to your event venue convenient, but the cheesy pies are also sure to please guests of all ages.

While you could make your own pizzas for the party, having them delivered from a local eatery will save you a lot of time and possibly even money. Some pizzerias offer coupons when ordering multiple pies at once, which will be easier on your wallet.

You can have pizza delivered for almost any type of special occasion or event, including kids' and adults' birthday parties, bridal or baby showers, graduation soirees, family reunions, housewarmings, and even casual wedding receptions. Pizza is ideal for both small, intimate gatherings and large-scale celebrations.

Pizza is also a versatile party food option in that it's appropriate for everything from the most casual to the fanciest events. You can either serve it as is from the pizzeria or upgrade it with extra gourmet toppings and dipping sauces yourself if the eatery doesn't have specific ingredients.

Here are additional tips for having pizza delivered for special events:

1. Dietary Concerns

Although pizza will appeal to guests of all ages, take any of their dietary concerns or preferences into consideration when ordering the pizza. For instance, provide meatless options for vegetarians, as well as dairy-free alternatives for the vegans and lactose-intolerant in the crowd.

You can request that the pizzeria use soy-based meat products, or dairy-free cheese alternatives if they carry them. If not, you may just have to order a vegetable pizza, or a pie without cheese. There are plenty of ways that you can get creative with the delivered pizza.

2. Add Gourmet Toppings

If your favorite or most convenient pizza shop doesn't have many gourmet toppings and you would like to serve fancier pies at your event, you can upgrade the pies yourself. Start by ordering plain cheese pizzas, and then customize them prior to the party.

Some topping ideas include any type of grilled veggie, such as cherry tomatoes, eggplant, mushrooms, or peppers. You can grill skewers of vegetables at home or at the event venue, and then add them to the delivery pizza. Pesto sauce, arugula, fresh basil and other Italian herbs, prosciutto, sundried tomatoes, feta cheese, and fresh mozzarella are other upscale ingredients to consider.

As another option, order specialty pies, such as taco or breakfast pizzas, from the restaurant as a creative twist.
